Well I'll just say this, just because I CAN do a task doesn't always suggest I SHOULD. I'm not claiming you can't figure it out, or purchase the correct tools. I'm simply stating not every business has the time or funds to do so.
Going one step further, have you set aside the time to understand the way to properly record your voice by speaking the ideal way? Many people don't realize how monotone they usually are. A voice over artist needs to pay attention to using quite a bit of variance in tone to avoid becoming monotone. It's a little thing that can go unnoticed if done right, but if done improperly your clients won't be purchasing your latest and greatest item or service. Additionally, there's a thing known as mic technique you should pay attention to. That's where the mic is located in front of your mouth to catch the best sound while steering clear of plosives, or the bursts of air that rush from the mouth when you say words that begin with P's, B's, and C's. If it is uncomfortable to focus on your recordings, say farewell to that new customer.
